Competitive cheerleading has been a part of my life for many years now and I can proudly say that despite the blood, sweat, and tears I have sacrificed for the sport, I would not have it any other way. I honestly could not picture myself doing anything else and I genuinely love everything about it. It has shaped me into the person I am today and I do not know where I would be if I didn't cheer.

This year, my team won our district championships. Being first in the district has amplified my love and passion for cheer because winning such a title with the team you love is something not everyone has the chance to experience. After all of the hard work and dedication that we put into perfecting our routine, winning was the cherry on top. Although I can confidently say that we have had our fair share of wins in the past years, nothing so amazing has ever come without a few failures. We struggled in the beginning of each season; pulling together difficult routines, overcoming unavoidable injuries, struggling to find a balance between school and cheerleading, losing to tough competition, and other adversities every successful team must overcome. Through thick and thin, my team has never failed to come out stronger than ever after facing what seems impossible to bounce back from. These challenges only motivated us to work that much harder in order to see the goals we ended up achieving.
